An Enouraging Weekend

Last weekend the four of us, myself, my fiance, and our two roommates, Joey and Anissa, went Friday night to an old church and graveyard we heard about. Other than spooking ourselves with random snapping twigs and a few shadows that were easily explained away. Nothing paranormal to report on that. But Saturday night we went to Anissa's great aunt's old place. A farm house with a small house and I guess regular sized barn.

We got some interesting readings in the barn. A compass was jumping around whenever anyone used it the right corner, and Joey thinks he picked up a voice, though we're still analyzing that. We also kept getting cold spots even though it was nearly 80 degrees in there, and a few times we felt like we were being watched. I stepped out twice to look around the outside of the entire barn with a flashlight just to see if someone was there or some animal to give reason to my feeling, but nothing. We were alone in there. Pretty interesting.

The tale goes that Anissa's late great uncle built the place back in the 1930s and their elderly neighbor died in the barn itself. Since the two were feuding and he'd come over likely to fight, we're not too sure on the back story with that, it is believed he wouldn't be at peace having died at his 'enemies' place. Anissa's aunt also swore someone else died on the property, but wouldn't go into details.

The house was pretty much well cared for by someone who comes by to look after her aunt. Her aunt was in the hospital recovering from a fall, but she is back in fairly good health for her age.

Well not much to report within the house itself. Henry saw a shadow in the form of what appeared to be a dog or small animal in a back bedroom, and we all heard what sounded like padding paws or foot steps along the wooden floors once. But no animal was around and she doesn't own a dog. There are no longer any animals on the farm so that couldn't be it either.

Anissa plans to ask her aunt about the dog.

My friend recently told me about a new movie that may be coming to the US by the fall. Though it isn't exactly the most paranormal based thing, and is more religious based, you don't have to be religious to appreciate the story and the facts surrounding it. I'm not a Catholic and this isn't a religious promotion, its just something I think is a fascinating story that many claim is totally true. It is already made and has already been seen, just not here yet. It is about the events that happened in Fatima, Portugal in 1917. I think even those of us who aren't quick to believe every paranormal story we hear have to admit, when researching Fatima, that the odds are stacked in the favor of the paranormal. I'm not saying whether or not a miracle truly happened on October 13, 1917, but I will say something did happen in the sky that day and many people were witness to it. For more on Fatima and the children of Fatima, check out this link or google information about it. A good little book called 'The True Story of Fatima' by John de Marchi is also a nice read. It really puts you in the mind of what those children went through and how they felt. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Our_Lady_of_Fatima
